VERY GOOD

This product is indeed ideal for the outdoors, but what makes it interesting is that it has special safety measures against water and water jets, so there is no risk of electrocution.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could enjoy your garden or patio during winter as well? The fact is that you totally can, and you don’t have to suffer through the cold either, being almost as comfortable as you are on the couch in your living room. Thanks to the invention of infrared heaters, we are able to bring warmth and comfort to areas and spaces that have little or no access to it. They can be used for practical reasons and for comfort reasons as well. You can place them in a basement or a storage area, in a barn to keep your animals warm during extreme bouts of cold, in a hallway without heating, in your living room, or on a patio, balcony or garden that you want to spend some outdoors time in. Today we want to present you such an item, the AEG IR Premium Tower 6000. This product is a bit more suitable for outdoor spaces, as you are going to see when we reveal more about it.

It can indeed be used for the indoors as well, but ideally, it should be used for an outdoor space. Its design doesn’t suit indoor furniture, so you wouldn’t want to keep it in your living room unless there’s no better option. But before you draw any other conclusions, let’s take a look at what makes this product so great.

Design

The aesthetic design is not that important in an outdoor infrared heater, but the industrial design – which gives it its practicality – is. This model is the tower vertical type and it is fitted at the top with three infrared panels that look in different directions. It is made from durable and solid aluminum and it is fitted with a wide enough ground plate and ground anchor to prevent it from tipping over, as it is made from cast iron. Its color is aluminum as well, but it is resistant to water and rust decay. It measures 270 inches in height, 110 in width, and 110 in depth.

Features

The most important thing that you need to know about it is that it is fitted with three IR Premium 2000 heaters, which is where it gets its name from. The heating medium is electricity, and the control is done mechanically. It produces heat at about 6000 watts and it features a permanent type of connection. Each heating element contains a halogen Philips bulb that can reach the maximum heating mode in merely 1 second. As for consumption, it consumes about 1750 watts, but it isn’t fitted with a thermostat, so you cannot select a specific temperature for it to produce. This rather depends on the area that it must heat and the actual temperatures outside that it has to battle with. Other important details that you may need to know is that it weighs about 45 kilograms, which means that it is not too light, but easy enough to lift and transport from place to place.

Moreover, you can mount it on the wall as well, by removing it from the tower and using the special fixtures that it features. It doesn’t have a timer, but this is a feature that is less necessary in such a unit because it is less likely that it will be left on and unsupervised. The fact that it reaches the maximum temperature in one single second is the best sign that it is specially made for the outdoors because you don’t have to prep it in advance once you feel like going out. When you get out, that’s when you turn it on, and when you leave, you simply turn it off. In that sense, you could say it is a bit economical because it only functions as long as you need it, and it does so at a maximum capacity.

Performance

It has a lifespan of about 5000 hours, but the best thing about it is that it spreads heat excellently thanks to its three separate panels. You can even adjust them in the direction you want, and concentrate more heat on a single area. Even more preferable, it can be placed in the middle of the action, so everyone around it is warmed by its production of heat.

Safety Concerns

There are not that many safety concerns to worry about with this unit. Being an electrical model that is controlled mechanically, there are few risks to consider. Its cast iron base prevents most probabilities of falling over, there are no risks of fire, and no risks of electrocution as well. The latter is ensured by the IP65 protection type, meaning that it is resistant to water, snow, and even water jets. This means you can enjoy using it during rain or snow as well.

Other Considerations

Although most products presented here receive a separate analysis of energy efficiency, this particular model has no such functions. It is only economical in the sense that it heats up very quickly so you don’t have to turn it on prior to going out. It can function optimally as long as you are there. Another detail that you need to be familiar with is that it has a warranty of 24 months, it was built in Poland, and it has a noise capacity of about 63 decibels. While this isn’t very quiet, it is not loud either, reaching the level of a normal conversation. For the outdoors, this isn’t an issue, as it will probably be muffled by your voices and other outdoor noises anyway.
